Connecting Data Minds in a Changing World

Do what you love. Connect. Grow.

Over the past years I’ve had the privilege to work with many talented data professionals — data engineers, modelers, analysts, and architects — at places like Rabobank, ABN AMRO, De Volksbank (ASN), Albron, Santander, and others.
Projects ended, people moved on, hybrid work became the norm, and our paths scattered.

Yet, I keep feeling how valuable and fun it is to stay connected.
Not just for business opportunities, but because we learn, grow, and inspire each other when we meet. And because it’s simply gezellig.

Why Now

  • AI is reshaping everything we do — from data modeling to analytics to the way we work.
  • Hybrid work has reduced spontaneous coffee chats and hallway conversations.
  • Freelancer hiring rules (ZZP) are changing, making it harder to navigate opportunities.

In times like these, your network matters more than ever — not as a stiff “business card swap,” but as a living group of people who help each other face challenges, share solutions, and keep growing.

The Idea

I’m starting informal, recurring meetups for everyone in my extended data network:

  • No entry fee. Everyone just pays for their own drinks and food.
  • No strict agenda. It’s mostly about connection.
  • Optional mini-talks or demos for those who want to share something cool.
  • Warm and social, not corporate. One life — work and personal growth intertwined.

Think of it as: Data & Drinks with a Growth Mindset.

The Setting

  • Central locations with easy parking and highway access.
  • Drinks first, dinner optional.
  • Space for small talks or idea demos if people feel like sharing.
  • Music and a relaxed atmosphere encouraged.

I’m exploring ways to use data & AI to find the best times and places: collecting attendee home bases, preferred travel times, and favorite days, then suggesting spots that work best for the group.

How You Can Join

For now, it’s simple:

  1. Show interest — just comment, like, or DM me on LinkedIn if this sounds fun.
  2. I’ll send a short survey to pick dates and locations that work for most.
  3. We’ll start with a small pilot meetup — drinks, laughs, and good conversation.
  4. If it works, we’ll continue quarterly and maybe add optional mini-sessions.

Why This Matters to Me

The Holstee Manifesto has always inspired me: “Do what you love. And do it often… Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion.”
That’s exactly what this is about: great people, growth, and making the most of our one life — inside and outside of work.

Let’s Connect

If this resonates with you:

👉 React or DM me so I can invite you to the first meetup.
👉 Feel free to share this with other data-minded friends who’d enjoy an informal, growth-oriented gathering.

Let’s connect, learn, share, and enjoy the journey — together.
