In 2022, I shared my excitement about the delivery of a new Data Warehouse for Finance & Risk at de Volksbank (SNS, ASN Bank, RegioBank, BLG Wonen) with an incredible team.
It was a monumental task, but we successfully completed it early that year. I was very proud of the product and, of course, the team that made it possible. De Volksbank even created an animation to showcase our achievements, a memorable career highlight.
Today, on July 1, 2024, after 5 years and 10 months, it’s time to bid farewell to my colleagues at de Volksbank. Leaving with a heavy heart, I reflect on the wonderful, sociable, and highly knowledgeable people I worked with, and the valuable experiences I gained.
I cherish the memories and the contributions I made to the Deltawerken project where we developed a new Data Warehouse where all database code is generated based on Logical Data Models resulting in full horizontal and vertical lineage.
As a self-employed professional, moving on to new clients after a few years is part of the journey, though I often stay longer when surrounded by great people. This was also the case at my previous assignment at Rabobank, where I also spent over 5 years.
While I had planned to take a six-month sabbatical, an exciting new challenge has come my way, and I hope to start soon on this exciting new assignment!
