Principles

A short manifesto.

How I think and work, in one place. Not slogans — the convictions that actually shape every engagement. Structure, applied to my own way of working.

01

Structure beats magic.

The magic isn’t in the model — it’s in the structure you give it. Output quality is a function of the structure around the tool. Get it right and good results stop being luck; they become repeatable.

02

Rules are the wedge.

Everyone says “data + AI.” The missing word is rules — the method layer (classification, validation, governance) that makes it reliable and explainable instead of just impressive.

03

Start with the business, not the database.

A data model is a description of a business, not of a database. Good modeling is as much communication as notation — a shared language for business, engineers and AI.

04

Validate, don’t trust.

Rules generate; validation and plausibility rules check the output against what’s known; on a mismatch it flags rather than guesses. And the checks improve themselves. Trust comes from validation, not hope.

05

Make it executable, not documented.

Architecture that lives in slides and wikis doesn’t exist in an AI-assisted workflow — AI optimizes away every rule it can’t see. Encode constraints; build validators. Architecture lives in feedback loops, not diagrams.

06

Transfer-by-design.

We choose the patterns and build them together, documenting as we go — so the knowledge lives in your team from day one. No drop-and-leave, no handover gap. The deliverable is a self-sufficient team, not a dependency on me.

07

Demo-driven.

Regular demos — typically every two weeks — turn progress into clear visuals everyone can follow. I do it to set the example, so the whole team picks up the habit. The demo rhythm becomes the team’s, not mine.

08

Make the complex clear.

Architecture, models and processes turned into diagrams people actually understand — generated from metadata, so the picture never drifts from the truth. Clarity is the deliverable.

09

Proof in the life.

I test everything on my own work and systems before I bring it to a client. The strongest demonstration of an approach is someone who already runs their life on it. Reliable because engineered — never “autonomous”, never magic.

10

Come in, prove the patterns, build together.

Senior, focused engagements — not a seat to fill or sprints to run. High value, kort & krachtig: choose the patterns, prototype to prove them, build them with the team. With people genuinely ready for it.

If these are your principles too, we’ll get along.

That’s usually the start of good work together.
